Golden Eyed Girl? (Ok, I need a title.)

His smell. She loved his smell. To her, his smell meant comfort, protection, and warmth. They sat on her couch with their fingers intertwined, watching foootball. For them watching football was typical. She had grown up with boys and they were not as willing to play with dolls and dress up in dresses and have tea with teddy bears as she was to learn the aspects if sports. He was intensely watching the game with his eyes following the football, just thrown for a gain of 15 yards. She usually would be watching just as intensely, but her mind was racing. Would tonight be the night? Would he finally kiss her? She couldn't remember the last time she was this nervous. She was sickened just thinking about it. The though of expressing her feelings scared her more than anything. She knew the only thing that would comfort her was talking to him. Something about his voice calmed her.
"Eli?" she asked, her voice was shaking.
"Yes," he answered with his voice full of confidence, the confidence that killed her.
"Your scar," she touched the cresent moon shaped scar on his brow, her free had sent chills down his spine as she touched his brow, "how did you get it?"
"I was uhm..playing football and my helmet hit my head and it split it," he answered, not so confident this time.
That was not the question she had wanted to ask him, but it would suffice.
He felt her cheek with the back of his leather textured hand. "Are you feeling alright? You're colder than normal." Her face instantly turned red and she blushed. He chuckled. "I..uh..Yeah. I am feeling perfect. I just..I am always cold." He grabbed for a blanket and wrapped her in it taking both of her hands in his this time. The fire was burning in the fireplace, she looked into his baby blue eyes and she saw the flames dancing in them, carelessly. She caught herself staring and turned her face back towards the game. She then looked down at her hands in his. She freed one of them and started tracing the veins on the back of his hands.
She looked up at him again. She noticed he was also looking at her.
"Can I keep you?" she questioned.
"For as long as you will keep me," he responded chuckling and giving his famous smile, "just like Casper and Wendy."
"Yes, just like Casper and Wendy," she said while deeply exhailing.
